Tutor Recruitment/Training Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Setting up newly accepted tutors on the Learn To Be website and on Slack.

  2. Training these tutors on how to use the virtual classroom.

  3. Introducing Learn To Be and our various programs and encouraging tutors to join partnerships when there are students pending. And if there are no students or the tutors are unable to tutor during the times partnerships take place, explain the on-demand program to them.

  4. Work with the Partnership/Student Coordinator to pair the tutors you're recruiting with the students that coordinator is recruiting.

WHERE DO TUTORS COME FROM?

  1. Through the LTB application on the website.
  2. Through VolunteerMatch/LinkedIn. Right now the emails come to Neeraj. But he can forward them to the recruitment/training coordinator.
  3. Through Idealist.org

UPGRADE USERS TO TUTORS ON LEARNTOBE.ORG

  1. Login to learntobe.org. On the left sidebar, click on Admin Tools
  2. Click on Users
  3. Search for the user by name or email.
  4. After finding the user, click on Edit User
  5. Check the Tutor checkbox.

HOW DO I CREATE NEW TUTORS?

  1. Login to learntobe.org.
  2. Go to http://www.learntobe.org/admin after logging in.
  3. Click on Users in the top navigation bar.
  4. Click on New User.
  5. Fill out the relevant information. In particular, the roles mask MUST be set to 2. (Note: You can leave the phone number and time zone blank. These will be set in a "Getting Started" page the tutor will need to fill out)

BYPASSING THE TUTOR APPLICATION

When users reach out to use from Volunteer Match, I will often have them bypass the application process and I will just create them an account and upgrade them to tutor status as I show above.
